Seasons Fusion

Published by betchai at 1:22 am under Balboa Park Edit This

I love the weather today, which is a very lovely and beautiful day at 70s!! It is so wonderful to feel like summer in winter with fall and spring scenery around. There is just no season here in San Diego, but a fusion of season! There is a touch of spring

with summer like temperature today at 70s!! Clearly, there is no distinct season in San Diego, all four seasons are just here this weekend! And my favorite picture representing San Diego’s no season but a fusion is this pink flower against the golden backdrop of autumn leaves.

And inside Botanical Building of Balboa Park, the orchids are in full show!

Lovely Orchid

Orchids are my favorite flowers because it reminds me of sweet home Philippines where beautiful orchids abound.

Though I definitely love the sun today ( but not the very strong Santa Ana winds) and the warmth brought about by Santa Ana wind, but I am wishing for more rain. Hmmmm, now, if we can only have sun during the day and rain at night, then, it would be perfect! I love rain because it would make me very hopeful for a wonderful spring just like in my last Tuesday’s walk where I saw butterfly and caterpillars.

Ah, the joys of being outside enjoying the surprises and gifts of nature is just priceless! It does not come with a price since you could not buy it, but the joy brings you hope and memories.

Ah, the orchid and bloom are both breathtaking. The colors are so vivid. I know what you mean by the temperature in the 70’s while during Winter. We are in the 60’s here and I love it. Again, gorgeous shots. Thanks. Jo

Bechai… I love rain when I was still in the Philippines. Now that I am here and know what happens when it rains during winter… it scares me out of my wits to go on the road again. Hayyyy…. love your photos just the same.

I heard once that it is 70 degrees in San Diego, all year. Is that accurate? because that would be lovely. I love your Fall Foliage shots, I have a soft spot for them.

    thanks a lot everyone.

@ MBL, yes, we do have orchids here, I think not native to this area but transplants from Asia and other places, but they grow beautifully just the same. On the other hand, I find it a lot easier to grow orchid in the Philippines, here, I am not very successful, I have some orchids that died on me here, but never happened in the Philippines.

@ Ruthi, I understand what you mean. I’ll pray for your safety on the road always.

@ Melissa, I think that is over-promotion, hahaha! I would love to say yes. It is actually 70s mostly from June - November, but it drops to 60s and 50s. We had been mostly in the 50s last month, with 30s and 40s low at night, thus getting 70s again is like summer. What is true though is that we won’t miss 70s for a long time, like this week, we have high pressure winds coming from the desert that warmed us to 70s. 80s inland

Wow, great shots, I have so had it with this -25-45c weather here in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, at least I can dream about warmer days ahead when I come here.

I love Balboa Park, but I’m always exhausted by the time I get done looking at everything.
